What is love REALLY like? Don't exaggerate. I don't feel I can trust poetry because it sounds too perfect to be true. I'm just so intrigued, though! You see, I'm 14 and I've still never felt love except the kind you feel for your family. Are they the same? Is it like a really really close friendship? But, not really?Anonymous
This just made my day. Such a sweet question. (: Umm, I think love is choosing the highest good for someone else. Let me explain… Love isn’t some obsession bullshit where you say you can’t live without someone else. Love is selfless. Love means that if it came down to it, if it was best for the individual that you “love,” you would be okay letting them go- if and only if it meant that they would be happier or better off. Love means sacrificing yourself for someone else because your happiness flourishes and grows on their happiness. Love is the most selfless thing. Love isn’t perfect. Love is being able to get in a million fights with someone because you trust them enough to know that no matter how honest you are with them, they aren’t going to care about you any less. If you think about it- we only hold back the opinions that could hurt those that we don’t really know… But when we love someone, we are much more brutally honest because we know they aren’t going to go anywhere. They love us as is- even with all our imperfections. Like I said, love is not infatuation. Love is the ability to stand completely on your own but in unison with someone else. Love is not “finding your other half,” because if you are doing just that, then you do not love the individual because you are not offering them a whole person. Love is trust. Love is being able to do your thing while your significant other does theirs… But still knowing how much you care about one another. Love is a crazy thing. But in the simplest way I can put it, all poetry aside… Love is the best damn friendship you will ever have.
How do I get a boyfriendAnonymous
Find what you love… Live it. Be yourself… And forget trying to find someone. Be confident in what you do- that’s the sexiest thing… And don’t stress it. The boys will come. You should never go out of your way to impress someone. Once you’re happy with you, the rest falls into place.
